Displaying actions in multiple OGSMs

It is possible to display an action in multiple OGSMs. In practice, there are two methods:

Displaying the action (or an underlying action) as an action in another OGSM. This way, as management team, you can monitor an important action from a department on your own OGSM.
Adding the action as a strategy in another OGSM. For example, you can further develop a project in a underlying OGSM with KPIs and actions.

In both situations, changes to the action are visible in all locations.

Show action (or underlying action) in another OGSM

Open the action.
Click on Add relation under the heading Relationships.

Under What do you want to do?, choose the type Action in the group Add as.
Select the strategy where the action should be visible. You will see a list of the strategies in all OGSMs that you have access to as a user. Therefore, you cannot add an action to OGSMs that you do not have access to. You can also search for the name of the team, OGSM and strategy. To show the action in several places at once, tick more than one strategy.
Click on Save. The action is now visible in the selected OGSM.

Add action as a strategy to other OGSMs

Open the action.
Click on Add relation under the heading Relationships.

Under What do you want to do?, choose the type Strategy in the group Add as.
Select the OGSM where the action should be visible as a strategy. You will see a list of the OGSMs that you have access to as a user. You cannot add actions to OGSMs that you do not have access to. You can also search by the name of the team and OGSM.
Click on Save. The action is now visible in the selected OGSM. Any underlying actions are shown under the strategy as actions.

See where the action appears

Under the heading Relationships, the block Visible on shows the OGSMs the action sits on. Click the name of an OGSM to go there directly.

Edit relation

Open the action.
Under the heading Relationships, hover over the row you want to change and click the pencil icon.
Edit the relation, or click the bin icon to take the action out of that OGSM.

Edit linked action

The screen spells out what removing does. If you take the action out of an OGSM, it disappears there and stays untouched everywhere else. Any underlying actions it has in that OGSM go with it.

Removing actions

When you remove an action with the bin at the top of its detail screen, it is deleted from all OGSMs where it is visible. If the action sits in only one place, that is also the only way to remove it.
